Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog series where I share how I use Copilot for 365 to boost my productivity and creativity as a Principal Solutions Architect at LiftCloud. If you haven’t already, go check out my last blog post in this series. We’ve spent some time with Copilot use cases, and now I want to show you how to enable copilot in office 365, how to use it to optimize your workflow, and how to add Copilot to Word.
How to turn on Copilot in Word
Copilot for 365 is a powerful Ai Assistant that helps you write, edit, and format documents in Microsoft Word. It can generate content using natural language, suggest improvements, check grammar and spelling, and more. This is the process to setup Copilot and add it to Office. Download Copilot for 365 as an add-in for Word, and you can enable Copilot in Word by following these steps:
- Make sure your tenant has the proper Copilot Subscription and Microsoft 365 Subscription to Enable Copilot in Office
- Open Word and click on the Insert tab.
- Click on the Get Add-ins button and search for Copilot for 365.
- Select Copilot for 365 and click on Add.
- There will be a Copilot for 365 icon on the Home tab.
- Click on the icon to open the Copilot for 365 pane on the right side of the screen.
Now you have enabled Copilot for 365 and are ready to start utilizing the seamlessly integrated Copilot Experience!
How to personalize Copilot for 365 for your preferences
Copilot for 365 offers a variety of settings and options that you can customize to make it work the way you want. Here are some of the things you can do:
- Adjust the tone, style, and formality of the content that Copilot generates for you. You can choose from casual, neutral, or formal tones, and from creative, informative, or persuasive styles. You can also select the level of formality, from informal to formal.
- Set your preferred language from over 40 languages and region for Copilot.
- Enable or disable the features that you want to use or not use with Copilot.
- Manage your data and privacy settings with Copilot in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
You can access these Copilot Features by clicking on the gear icon on the Copilot for 365 pane.
How to use Copilot for 365 in day-to-day activities
As a Principal Solutions Architect at LiftCloud, I have a busy schedule and a lot of responsibilities. Copilot for 365 is a powerful tool that helps me to manage my time and tasks more efficiently and effectively. Here are some of the ways I use Copilot for 365 to start my day, keep up with my meetings, and get meeting notes from Teams meetings:
- Every morning, I use Copilot for 365 to generate a summary of my calendar and tasks for the day. Copilot for 365 creates a concise and clear overview of my tasks for the day. This helps me to plan my day and prioritize my work.
- Before each meeting, I use Copilot for 365 to prepare an agenda and a list of questions. Copilot for 365 provide data from Microsoft Graph in Office apps such as Word or Outlook. This helps me to make the most of each meeting and to avoid wasting time and resources.
- After each meeting, I use Copilot for 365 to get meeting notes from Teams meetings. Copilot for 365 connects to my Teams account and retrieves the transcript, the chat, and the files from the meeting. Then, it summarizes the key points, the action items, and the follow-ups from the meeting. This helps me to keep track of the outcomes and the next steps from each meeting and to share them with the relevant stakeholders.
- With Copilot for 365, I can save time, improve communication, and increase collaboration with my team and my clients.
How to compare 2 Documents and find the differences with Copilot for 365
Sometimes, I need to compare two versions of a document and find the differences between them. This can be a tedious and error-prone task, especially if the documents are long and complex. Copilot for 365 makes this task much more efficient. Here is how I use Copilot for 365 to compare two word documents and find the differences:
- I open the first document in Word and click on the Copilot for 365 icon on the Home tab.
- I click on the Compare Documents button on the Copilot for 365 pane and select the second document that I want to compare.
- Copilot for 365 scans both documents and highlights the differences between them. It shows me the added, deleted, and changed text, as well as the formatting and layout differences.
- I can review the differences and accept or reject them individually or in bulk. I can also see the summary of the differences and the statistics of the comparison.
- I can save the comparison result as a new document or merge it with the original document.
With Copilot for 365, I can compare 2 documents and find the differences with ease and accuracy.
